“What’s for dinner?”

Every home asks it, every evening. Ask Aruna is the smart and thoughtful kitchen companion that knows you and your kitchen — organising your pantry, saving your recipes from anywhere, and suggesting dinner: your own favourites, and new dishes chosen for your kitchen and your tastes.

Ask Aruna — the 6pm question, answered.

Show Aruna your pantry

Snap a photo of your pantry, fridge or cupboard. Ask Aruna turns it into a beautifully organised list. No typing. No barcodes.

Use your favourite recipes

Snap a cookbook page, paste a recipe from social media or the web, share a link, or photograph an entire handwritten family recipe book. Even cursive handwriting is welcome.

Ask Aruna what’s for dinner

Tell Aruna who’s eating and what you’re in the mood for. Aruna will suggest meal ideas from your own collection, while introducing fresh ideas tailored to your pantry and your tastes.

Plan your week

Plan meals around your schedule, from busy weeknights to slow weekends. Know what’s for dinner every night before the week even begins.

Build your shopping list

As you plan your meals, Ask Aruna automatically creates a shopping list of the ingredients you’re missing. Tick items off as you shop, then unpack your groceries with a tap — they’re added straight to your pantry.

The story behind Ask Aruna

Ask Aruna is named after our founder’s mother. In her family, cooking was simply part of everyday life. Everyone cooked, recipes were shared, and there was always room for one more at the table.

A photograph belongs here — a table, full.

Whenever anyone wondered how to prepare a dish, the answer was often the same:

“Ask Aruna.”

The name Aruna also means “dawn” in Sanskrit. It inspired the small coral sun in our logo — a symbol of fresh beginnings and the inspiration every new meal can bring.

Years later, a family journey through Japan added another ingredient to the story. The beauty of simple food, prepared with care and enjoyed together, inspired Ask Aruna’s calm, minimalist design.

Today, those influences come together in a kitchen companion designed to help every home answer the 6pm question.
