Ask Aruna
Never wonder what’s for dinner

Support

Ask Aruna is the smart and thoughtful kitchen companion that knows you and your kitchen — saving your recipes, organising your pantry, and suggesting new dishes to try. Below are the questions we hear most — if yours isn’t here, the kitchen door is always open at the address at the bottom.

How do I get the app?

Ask Aruna is currently in private beta with our Founding Tasters, arriving soon on the App Store and Google Play. Testers receive a personal invitation — on iPhone through Apple’s TestFlight, on Android through a Google Play testing link.

How do updates work?

Improvements arrive quietly and often. Fully closing and reopening the app twice picks up the newest version — no store visit needed. Larger updates come through the App Store or Google Play in the usual way.

Do I need to type everything into my pantry?

No. Photograph your pantry, fridge or cupboard and Ask Aruna organises everything for you automatically — onto shelves, ready to use. You can edit anything afterwards.

Where do my recipes come from?

Anywhere. Photograph a cookbook page or a handwritten card, save a recipe from a website or social media, paste text, or photograph a whole family recipe book. Ask Aruna turns each one into a proper recipe, kept forever.

Does Aruna remember my diet?

Yes — until you change it. Anything you set in Getting to know your kitchen (open your account from the circle at the top right) is a standing rule: keto, vegetarian, a nut allergy, no beef. Standing rules apply to every suggestion, on every phone signed into your kitchen, and they are never broken. What you type while asking about tonight shapes tonight only. Who you are lives in Getting to know your kitchen; how you feel goes in the ask.

Why does Aruna say the reader is resting?

The smart features — reading pantry photos, capturing recipes, suggesting dinner — have a daily allowance for each kitchen, which keeps the app affordable for everyone. If Aruna is resting, everything else keeps working, and the reading wakes again tomorrow.

Is my kitchen private?

Yes. Your recipes, pantry and plans belong to your account and no one else’s. There is no advertising and your data is never sold. The full detail lives in our privacy policy.

Can I get my recipes out?

Always. Export is free and stays free, even if you stop using the app. Your recipes are always yours.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: open your account from the circle at the top right of the Tonight page, and choose Delete my kitchen. Deletion is immediate, permanent, and removes everything from our servers. It cannot be undone — which is exactly the point.

Can my household share one kitchen?

Household sharing is coming during the beta. For now, everyone signs in with the same email and password on their own phones, and the kitchen stays in sync across devices.

Something looks wrong. What should I tell you?

The three things we need:

A screenshot helps too. There are no wrong reports.
